    Hi everyone,

I’m shooting a feature documentary and have recently switched from FCP 7 to Premiere CC. We recently had to reorganize our media hard drive and relinked all clips in the WIP editing project files. However, after relinking, the file sizes all increased dramatically (one from 29 MB to 100 MB). Has everyone experienced before? Wish Premiere CC could open multiple projects at once, just like FCP. Also, at what size will Premiere becomes unstable and unworkable?

    Thanks,

    Hao

You mean the actual video file sizes change outside of Premiere?? Never heard of that before. Premiere caches preview files and generates audio conform files, which can quickly take up a large chunk of space, but that doesn’t affect the original video file.

I’ve worked on projects with hours of footage and hundreds of assets and never noticed it becoming more unstable. Thankfully, I think those days from FCP7 are over. 🙂
