  • Reloading files every time open big project takes a long time

Pretty new to PP CC and coming over from FCP where when opening a project it may take a bit of time, but once open all clips and audio are ready to go.
Now when opening a project with alot of raw footage in PP it can take many minutes for things to “load”.
Especially i notice the audio wont play. Basically cant just hop in and edit for a good while.
At the bottom of the project window, I see the program cycling through the various clips that its loading…one by one it seems.
Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Will a newer faster computer help this, or is this just how PP works and I have to get used to it.
I often need to hop in and out of projects to make quick changes, and it seems like a major waste of time to have to wait this long for things to “load”
    Any insight is appreciated
