    Hi all,

I want to project a 1080 x 1080 Quicktime via a 1080p projector. Is there any way that this would be possible without the lens throwing light across a 1920 horizontal?

    Thanks a lot!

I would make it into a 1920×1080 frame with a pillarbox.

Sorry, projectors are designed to throw light across the full 1920×1080 image. If you put your 1080×1080 into a 1920×1080, and pillarbox it, as Ann mentions, it’ll have black on both sides…but yes, it will be projected black. Can’t avoid that.
