  How would I create this “beaming” effect.

  Im sure some of you have probably seen the show Stargate SG-1. Everyonce and awhile they use their beaming technology. (Kind of like the startrek beaming effect) Here are a few links to some images showing what the effect looks like. I currently do not have any video showing it, but some of you might know what im talking about. I would like to know how would I go about creating this effect? Ive already shot my footage, and the only thing to so now is add the effect.

  Thanks. Im open to ideas and any suggestions. This will be my first attempt at this beaming effect.

  First, get Particle Illusion. Then, shoot your actors in front of a green screen.

  Creative Cow Leader Andrew Kramer did an excellent tutorial on how to create a “Transporter beam” effect for his Serious FX DVD that you can buy here. The ninth one.

  You could search for “Transporter” in the COW Archives too.

  Well, the shot was taken outside in the sunlight, so im not sure if a bright spotlight over the actor would show up like in the screenshots above. I do have particle illusion, but figured AE would do it better and would give me more control over the effect.
