  • Accessing .mov files crashing system

I have a folder on an exFAT drive, formatted by a MAC with some .mov files I need for my edit. Trying to access these folders, even after copying to a hard drive results in a full system crash. I’ve tried this on my Windows 8 and my Windows 10 machines. Same result. I have also copied this folder to both my own exFAT drive and an NTFS drive. Same result.

I can access the files with no problem from a Mac I borrowed from a friend. She’s not an editor so I don’t have any software, nor can I install any that relates to editing.

Any suggestions for how I can get a hold of these files to use in my edit without crashing my system? I can use the other folders on this drive, it’s just this one folder that crashes my system on a PC.

    Thanks,
    julie
