  Adobe PP CC 14 Randomly Freezes

  Here are my specs before I start.

  Adobe PP CC 14 8.2.0
  Mac Pro – Late 2013 – 3ghz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5, 64gb RAM, AMD FirePro D700 6gb
  OS – 10.9.5
  Hardware: AJA Kona 4
  Drives: Network Storage (Avid ISIS) and USB3 SSD Drives. (Problem occurs on both)

  While working in PP, I have had problems where the project freezes. It doesn’t lock up, an error doesn’t arise, but the last frame I was on is stuck. I can scrub through the timeline, I can click around, but nothing updates. The timeline won’t play either. In order to get back up and running again, I need to force quit and completely reboot.

  I have tried disabling the Kona card, the error still happens.
  I have tried changing my project playback settings from Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) to Software Only. The error still happens.

  In my sequence settings, I do not have Video Thumbnails turned on.

  I wish I could pinpoint exactly what I am doing, but it seems to happen randomly. Sometimes while adjusting an effect control, sometimes I’m just trying to preview a clip. It never happens when I am rendering.

  The project I am currently working on is only still images that range in size. The sequence dimensions are odd, but I can’t imagine that it’s causing the problem – 2368×800.

  Please any help would be greatly appreciated, I have a tight deadline, so constantly rebooting is not helping my workflow!
