  Premiere Pro CC 2014 – Program Monitor / Source Monitor glitching out

  On some projects and after a certain amount of time, my Program Monitor and Source Monitor start glitching out for weird reasons. Anyone know the cause?

  I’ve had this problem a lot before, but it’s become a lot more common lately, and it’s frustrating when it keeps interrupting my work. Has anyone else seen this issue crop up before?

  Alienware 17 (2013)
  Intel Core i7-4900MQ @ 2.8GHz
  Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M
  32GB RAM

  Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview 64=bit (10.0, Build 10074)
  Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 (64-bit)
  3840×2160 at 125% scaling

  Couple of things to try

  Make sure you have a current or semi-current NVIDIA driver and not the WHQL driver of Windows 10. Clear your media cache (preferences) and trash your preferences (hold down shift+ctrl [I think] while starting the application). If that doesn’t work, then try turning off the GPU and see if the issue goes away. Or try OpenCL instead of CUDA.

  Finally, do remember that you’re using a preview build of Win 10 – not an officially supported OS, so your mileage may vary…
