    I was given an Mini DV tape shot in SD. The foot looks jittery and audio breaks. The video operator did not see this. I suspect he was in a dark area and in manual took the shutter speed to 15 or lower to get more light. He just didn’t what he was doing. I captured the footage into pp and looked in meta info but nothing. I also opened it in Bridge and it only gave the date. Any idea how I can find what frame rate this guy shot the footage in. He is not around to ask. Thanks

    MiniDV is always either 50i (25 fps) or 59.94i (29.97 fps). You can see the frame rate in the Project panel in list view. Camera metadata like shutter speed is not stored in a DV stream.

    From your description, though, it’s possible that you’re suffering from dropout [link] — possibly during recording, but possibly during capture. Your DV deck may have dirty heads; you might try cleaning and recapturing.
