  CS 5 Can’t export 5.1 Surround Sound files for editing in ProTools

  I am working with sequences which have a mix of stereo, mono, and 5.1 surround audio files. I am exporting them to clean them up in proTools. The surround sound files will not export in the 5.1 array–as a result I am unable to properly adjust levels, etc. QUESTIONS: 1. In another person’s message they discovered their Master audio was set to Stereo which caused his Surround Sound files to export as 2 channel stereo files instread of 5 channels. HOW do I change the master from Stereo to 5.1? Is that advisable?
