I had a problem exporting sub clips from Premiere. The source clip that gave me trouble was ProRes. I successfully exported several sub clips from other sources (h.264) but when I went to do so with the ProRes source clip, the video display (in the export media window) as well as the resulting clips were black? Did not seem to matter what export setting or preset I called up, it would remain black. Anyone have a clue to why this would be?

    Thanks,

    Paul

You’re on a Mac not a windows box? If windows, you cannot export to ProRes without 3rd party solution.

Sorry on a Mac. I had been able to make a Seq w those same ProRes clips and export it fine, why I can export indiv subclips is mystery

Drop each clip in it’s own sequence as a workaround.

    then export those sequences.

Thanks Alex, this had occurred to me. I started down this road because I was editing from half-hour shows and my client wanted to archive selects rather than whole shows. I tested Consolidate and it did not work as expected (more on that later).

It seems strange that these export presents this problem but… for my purposes one would have to change the seq tc to match the source
