    Hey Everyone,
quick question…I just upgraded to a new powermac quad, 4GB memory, about 750GB HDD Space, a Blackmagic Decklink PRo PCI-E Card, and I have Nucleo running…yet, when I scrub in portions of a project, I get the pinwheel of death for minutes at a tme…it is a complicated project yes, but I have gagues on my desktop for memory/cpu cycles, and my mem is @ 13% used, my cpu at about 25-30% used…I upped the memory usage in prefrences, but I am curious if anyone has some suggestions on ways to speed up previews (ram) and renders in a system like this…thank you…

it depends on what your project consists of:
    1. if its videos – use proxies
2.if its 3d scenes and complicated effects try
1.render the scenes that are done (like background)
2.try using the capslock and than
move from scene to scene (it will save you the time
    getting there..)
    3.try toggeling the quality slider
thats all I can think of right now
maybe if you provided more details I could
    remembers other stuff

I think I solved my own problem, and could someone confirm this for me also…quicktime is not a big fan of alpha channels? when i render with an alpha, it stalls and freaks out…without an alpha, all is good…again, just a casual observation, can some one confirm this?
