  GoPro Footage Goes Soft When Rendered

  I have some GoPro footage shot with a drone at 2704×1440 24fps. It looks great in my 1080p timeline mixed with the 1080 C100 footage. When I render the footage, it gets soft and looks like SD on 60 inch TV. I have tried resizing, repositioning, I have checked and unchecked the scale to sequence box in general preferences all to no avail. As soon as I change a parameter on the rendered clip it gets crisp again, until I rerender. Exports are soft as well.

  Any ideas why or how to fix it.

  All help and suggestions appreciated.
