  Light fog problem

  How would i create a light fog effect? there is this stadium shot that i was given and someone asked me to create a natural sunlight rays that passes through the windows with smoke/fog being visible…

  I thought about creating a still image from photoshop (render>clouds) then (going into after effects) create a white solid then mask that solid in the shape of a spot light or a cone that passed through the windows – then change the blending mode to screen or any blending mode that fits.

  – anyway i was wondering if there is another way – my problem lies in animating the smoke pattern… thanks for any input/advice on how to go about this.
