  • Is it possible to replace a clip with another clip within the Project?

I have completed an edit, but my offline proxy files were missing the proper Reel Name, which is displaying under the Tape Name column of the Premiere Project window, so that I can reconnect the files to the Online Masters when I conform in Davinci Resolve. I have rerendered the proxies to include the Reel Name Meta Data, and when I import the clips into Premiere they have the proper meta Data displayed under the Tape Name column. The problem is, I can’t seem to connect the clips in the timeline to these clips that maintain the Tape Name data. I’ve tried making all the original Proxies offline, and reconnecting to these new files, but it doesn’t change anything in the Tape Name meta data column. I assume it’s because that data didn’t exist when the clips where first brought in.

Is there a way to replace a clip in the project, with another clip IN THE PROJECT so that it will recognize the Tape Name data? There are many cuts in the timeline, and so replacing it clip by clip would be pretty laborious.

    Does that make sense?

also, did you try relinking, then quitting premiere pro and opening the project again to see if the tape name populates at that point

    The media is ProRes Proxy.

I did try reconnecting and then restarting Premiere, but it didn’t populate the Tape Name field.
