    Hey all

We are transitioning into using Premiere from Final Cut X. We are currently only doing one project in FCP, and we are hesitant to moving to Premiere on said project because of some features that make it much quicker to do this project. And its a project we do every week so any time we can save is important to us.

The main feature we really like is a titler. FCP has some preset animated titles that allow you to just put in the info and the animation is all there for you!

I am confident that I can build the same animations in After Effects, but my question is: Is there a way to set it as a template or something like that? I don’t want to have to open up After Effects every week to change the information and timing of these animations. Plus, when we hire an intern it would be much easier to have them just use Premiere instead of having to teach them how to use After Effect as well.

    Thanks in advance!

    Heya…

    a long time motion3,4,5/fcp 6 & 7 user myself (well as a freelancer I use everything)…

I’m happy to say that Adobe has mostly addressed this workflow with the last release earlier this year.

    See this:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/how-to/integration-after-effects.html

particularly the section called “Live Text Templates”

not quite as robust was what you are used to, but should get you where you want to go.

I believe FX Factory has some animated title plugins that should work in Premiere.

I did a little demo on how to rig Ae/Pr live text templates with expressions:

    https://www.keenlive.com/renderbreak/2014/06/rigging-ae-comps-with-the-new-templates-feature/

Using this technique, you can expose all kinds of options to the editor in Premiere, allowing them quite a bit of flexibility in adjusting the title design without ever having to open Ae.

If you’re familiar with expression in After Effects, my demo video will show you everything you need to get started. If you’re not, I’m available for consultation.
