  • Still format that doesn’t require render (no red/yellow line)

For most projects, I’m only using images for a few seconds here or there, and render is almost instantaneous, so the format isn’t really an issue. However, I’ve been hired to create a batch of web videos (mostly audio) that require 10 hours of a still frame. Typically, formats that don’t require any rendering (no red/yellow/green line) output a little faster in AME. These are limited to a few native video formats with no effects: DV-AVIs, some AVCHD, XDCAM formats, etc. However, in my 10 years, I’ve never noticed a still image format that was completely native. Every still image I’ve ever imported red/yellow lines (I’m running a non-CUDA system at the moment, so no yellow lines for me). I’ve tested the gamut: png, jpg, tiff, targa, this specialized “DPX” format that Premiere can export stills to… nothing.

    Any ideas?

Remember, for 10 hours, any little bit counts, so where this would usually be a superfluous question, it actually makes a difference to me.
