XDCAM EX workflow between two different editors: Proyect managing?
Hi! I´m starting a new proyect on PPro CS6 of a 6 chapters series 45 min. long each for broadcast. Footage is in different formats and codecs, but what is bothering me is the XDCAM EX file/folders based structure.
So the director will cut all the good takes of some interviews, put them in several sequences (one for each chapter) and then send me the ppro proyect file .prproj.
Both have same footage and folder structure for XDCAM EX files, but he´s using an external disk and i am using an internal 9 TB Raid0.
My internal unit has letter D:/ and director´s external unit is any other.
If all the footage where in one simple folder, there will be no problem in relinking media in PPro proyect pannel automatically, but I´m afraid that when i´ll want to open his proyect file, premiere is going to ask me for the entire proyect files one by one due to the file/folders structure of XDCAM EX footage.
Even if he saved a Proyect Managed folder with all the footage on his timeline, relinking need is more than probable.
Also, we could ingest through Prelude and change clips name transcoding to other format and making single files in one only folder, but i´d like to maintain native format so, anyone has a good tip to help me in this workflow?I´ll appreciate any help, thank you very much
