  Does CS6 Still Receive Stability Updates?

  Hello, I have a question.

  Does CS6 Still Receive Stability Updates?

  I’m thinking of buying Production Premium CS6 from somewhere (Adobe really has messed things up for non-profits and freelance workers with CC…just thought I’d throw that in there. =D ). Before I buy, though, I’d like to know if CS6 still receives functionality patches (if a feature isn’t working correctly) and stability updates.

  Hi Daniel,

  I’ve been using CS6 since it came out, works great for me on PC. There has been a couple of updates, latest being 6.0.5 to fix old issues. With CC, and now 2014 versions being out, I feel safe to say than ANY further Adobe development of CS6 is over with at this point.

  Hi Daniel,
  We have stated in the past that we will only be fixing bugs for Premiere Pro CS6. No new features are to be created. I’m not precisely sure what you mean by “stability updates” but you can see the kind of fixes we’ve done by inspecting the 6.0.4/6.0.5 release notes: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/premiere-pro-cs6-604-605.html

  Thank you both for your replies.

  Kevin, when was the 6.0.5 update released? And do you know for how long Adobe will be “fixing bugs” for the CS6 products? I can’t find a nice clean explanation on Adobe’s website that details their product support life-cycles similar to how Microsoft does…for Windows.

  The official word is, “We plan to sell Creative Suite 6 for use on supported platforms indefinitely.” See this FAQ: https://www.adobe.com/products/cs6/faq.html
