My boss handed me a Canon XH-A1 with a tape containing footage that had been shot on the camera in HDV.

So I plugged it into my Macbook using Firewire, set the capture mode in Premiere CS5.5 to HDV, and I got the dreaded message “Wrong Input Format. Try Changing Camera Format or Capture Settings.”

When I change the capture settings to DV, it works just fine. The footage was shot HDV though and I’d love to get it captured in HD. Any ideas on how to fix this?
