We are a Final Cut shop shooting on Sony XD3’s transitioning at some point to Premiere Pro C.
We now have 4 editing stations, which the crew except for myself are avoiding.
As the only one comfortable with using the product on a daily basis it has become my task to share what little I know with my co-workers.

It has been my policy to copy all of my video to the hard drive or server and import from there but the rest of the folks are used to using XDCAM browser to copy selected clip are VERY unhappy that does not work with our current system for whatever reason.

My question is, is there a way to accomplish the same thing in Premiere Pro where you can see thumbnails of all of your clips at once and pick and chose which to copy to either your hard dive or server and import without copying all the contents of your card first.

    Any info appreciated, thanks

Looking at the Sony website, it does this:

Support for Apple Final Cut Pro** (Mac only)
Import clips to FCP-X and FCP-7 with file conversion to QuickTime
Export editied sequence to MXF / MP4 files from FCP-7

    How are they using it?

knowing that will help me help you. 🙂

    I agree with Jon….BUT

want to break the ice in moving ppl to the pipeline….

so easing them in based on what they are used to may make for a more willing migration…
