I’m excited about the next update for Premiere but am curious if anyone knows when it will be released? The new masking tool looks cool but what I’m most looking forward to the inclusion of some keyboard shortcuts that I used to use all the time in FCP (lock all audio or video tracks, match frame from source to timeline, etc…).

    Thanks!

Adobe keeps this stuff to themselves until they’re ready.

Once they’re showing “previews” though, it’s safe to say that it’s sooner than later.

Should be soon, they’ve got to keep us CC subscribers happy!

the first CC upgrade from CS 6 was the June after that year’s NAB.

nobody but they really know, but June “could” be it based on past releases.

Why do they have to keep subscribers happy? We’re all paying our monthly subscription fees updates or not.
That’s why I preferred the old idea of paying for updates. More incentive to innovate then. Less now.

[Pat Horridge] “More incentive to innovate then. Less now.”

I don’t see it that way. Adobe is giving us point upgrades every 6 months
instead of the old model which was 1-2 years apart.

As a video pro by trade….I’m now also using Dreamweaver for PHP development….I’d never EVER have spent money on that under the old model…now it’s just there…for me to try….and to learn…and frankly…to get paid…

Dustin, this isn’t quite what you’re looking for, but in case you’re not familiar, in the current version of Premiere CC you can shift-click a video track padlock icon to lock all video tracks (or do the same with an audio track to lock all audio tracks). Still mouse-based, but better than having to individually click each padlock.
