Aliasing in Premiere Pro CS6 & Flicker Removal causing too much blur
I’m working on a project in CS6. The footage looks fine when I view it in Windows Media Player, but in Premiere, there’s extreme aliasing that’s very noticeable, particularly on horizontal lines.
So far, I’ve tried right clicking the footage in the timeline and selecting ‘Flicker Removal’ under ‘Field Options,’ which I thought was the solution at first. However, I noticed that Flicker Removal causes too much motion blur.
Is there another way to keep Premiere Pro from causing all this aliasing in my footage (without distorting it)?

If it’s only in the Premiere preview, I wouldn’t worry about it. These are probably just interlacing lines.
If you view your preview on an external monitor, these usually go away.

I wish it was just in the preview, but I did a test exporting and the aliasing is still present in the exported file when I watch that in Windows Media Player.

In that case, you may want to check your export settings. You can try progressive, that usually solves the issue, but you may also lose quality in the process.
If you know the field order in your original footage, you can right click on the footage inside the project panel, choose interpret footage or Modify >interpret footage and make sure the field order is correct. If you are not sure, try a couple of ways and see where things improve.

Ah, that fixed it. The problem was that I was trying out using Progressive in my sequence settings. I guess I’ll have to not use Progressive.
