We have been slowly transitioning from Mac to Pc at our Post house. When we first upgraded to CC, our Pr project files made on our Macs would work Perfectly on our PC systems (aside from the locating media) over our Ethernet based Final Share system.

Since about two updates ago, we have had no such functionality. Every time it would finish locating the media, it would list every asset offline and ask for us to search for the media. The problem there is when we would find the file Pr would tell us that there was an error loading the clip.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks-

Sounds like a codec issue Mac to PC and I’m assuming most of your Mac files are probably ProRes. If so, you’ll need the codec on the PCs so you can read it.

As for the reconnecting issue, that’s because the Mac and the PC see the SAN volumes as two different things. Same here with our Dell and the Macs. On the Macs it’s SAN 1, SAN 2, etc…. while on the Dell it’s E:, F:, etc….

With Premiere Pro CC all we have to do is point to one file and PPro finds all the rest of the files on its own. With CS6 you pretty much have to point to each and every file individually.

    Thanks for your feedback!

We’re trying Miraizon for our codec issues. We have quicktime 7 installed but it is not working well with our PCs.

Do you know a workaround for the Mac / PC San issue causing the re-link problems?

    Thanks-

    Justin
