Has anybody been having problems importing sequences/other projects into projects?

I’m working at a reality tv production company where they’re using premiere (v7.2.1) and this is something several of us editors have been experiencing here. Seems to be tied in with project file size, the assistants tell me when a project gets above 10 to 12 MB it starts to get flaky, but I’m currently working with a 9.3 MB project and can’t import a sequence or project. No warning or anything – the “Import Files” window pops up, progress bar completes, and in the end nothing’s happened. I check the History panel and nothing’s changed there, no record of my attempted import.

Ok, and it gets weirder – just did a test importing a sequence from another project & that worked, then went back to the project I want and still no dice with that one.

I’ll keep investigating & post if I figure anything out, but if anybody else has had similar experiences I’m super curious to hear what you’ve found.

Okay, after a lil process-of-elimination I’ve narrowed the problem down to a bin of merged clips from one day’s footage. When I delete that bin of merged clips I’m able to import my sequence. I’ve noticed merged clips seem to be extremely buggy in this program, and I’ve learned to avoid em at all costs, but it’s gonna be tricky since they were used throughout the project for this episode.
