Project appears damaged and can’t be opened. Tried making a copy, renaming , import to new project
nothing works. Usually I have backups for my projects but this time my edit was not for a client so I
did not back up as usual…but the point is why does this happen in PP…running CS6….How can I trust
this program moving forward from FCP7 when suddenly you can’t open a project. It has happened before
on more important edits and I have sometimes had to go back several projects in autosave to get the project to open. I have noticed in other forums that this has been an on going probem. This bug should be priority number one for Adobe…there is no way I am going to CC if this major issue is not fixed. Any thoughts on how to get my project back and why this happens? Thanks.

I’m not sure why this happens, and I haven’t actually seen it myself. I’d suggest that you submit a bug report [link] and provide as much information as you can.

As for getting your project back, you mentioned FCP7, so perhaps you’re on a Mac. Do you have Time Machine running?

I keep my projects on Dropbox, and that allows me to retrieve older versions, too.
