  • Horizontal Flip causes crash in CS6

Encountered a weird bug in Premiere CS6 today. I had a horizontal flip effect placed on one clip, with a cross dissolve into the next, which was not flipped. Playback and rendering were fine, but when I went to encode the file, I got a crash. Funny thing is the crash was on the last frame of the dissolve from the flipped clip to the non-flipped clip. I eventually got around this by simply using the “Transform” effect set to -100% horizontal, and it encoded out without a hitch (though I notice that the transform effect is a lot more CPU intensive than flip).

Anyone experience this? I don’t usually use flips in Premiere, so I’ve never encountered it before. The clips in question were AVCAM MTS files, btw.

Just for fun, could you convert the same files to avi and just try that little section of video as a junk project?
