  CF Cards playback in Prelude

  Hi!
  I have a editor friend that has a problem with his Prelude and CF cards playback.
  He is recording 50 MB XDCAM HD files in mfx format on CF cards with his Nanoflash. The problem he has is when playing back those cards using a CF card reader and USB 3 his footage is not smoth on several cards.
  We tried and tested several cards with differnt speeds. But cards that messueras the same read speed plays back diffferent. Some cards work fine but same brand, same speed can differ and sometimes play back fine and sometimes freezes and jerky. Cards that says it have 90 MB/s read time dosent work and cards with read speed of 45 MB/s works fine.
  His workflow is to record on Nanoflash, playback, choose and ingest using Prelude and then edit in Premiere.
  So he has bought several new highspeed CF cards that should work but it dosen´t. The thing is that if we are using the VLC media player some card will play fine inside VLC but not with Prelude.
  Anyone that have had similar problems?

  I can see a lot of issues with that workflow, the worst being that there is no backup?

  I would definitely transfer the footage before editing.

  Hi!
  As he films nature he usualy only saves around 10% of the footage from the Nanoflash. The files that is ingested using Prelude is also backed up on separate harddiscs when ihe done ingesting.
  I suggested that he should transfer the CF cards to a temp folder, then ingest using Prelude but he wan´t to do it directly from the CF cards to save time and space.
