I have a data file with path points. I currently have a script that loads these points and creates a path in photoshop.

Is there a way to do the exact same thing in AE? I can’t seem to find a way to create a path in AE via scripting, preferably with 3D support.

    Has anybody done this?

    Thanks

First you have to be sure what you want to do. there is a difference between creating your stuff as masks (points) or as motion paths (keyframes). There are sample scripts that illustrate both uses contained in the AE install. For more info check other scripting sites like AEnhancers.com.

So do I use a mask shape? I know how to create a square mask. The parameter is an array of 4 points.
How would I go about building a mask of many points? Better yet, what am I looking for in the documentation?

Where are the sample with the AE install? I can’t seem to find them.

    Thanks
