Audio problem in Subclips when converting CS6 project to a CC project
I have run into a problem that’s really puzzling me. I have an editor working on a project in CS6. I need to review his progress every couple of days and we thought it would be faster for him to shoot me a Premiere project than to render out a quicktime every time. I have all of the footage organized in the same way as on his computer, and all of the files link up correctly when I import his project. However, I am running Premiere CC as opposed to CS6. After I have converted his project into a Premiere CC project and linked up all of the files, the audio inside of subclips does not play back.
If I play files in the source window, audio plays back fine. If I add new footage to his existing timeline, audio plays back fine. However, all of his subclipped footage on the timeline plays back completely silent. It doesn’t say it’s offline, but there are also no visible wave forms on the clips. I had my editor send over a new premiere file just in case it was corrupted somehow, but the problem remains. Any ideas?? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion. It was not fully updated, so I tried to update and it failed. Adobe suggested to reinstall CC. I did, and now it is fully updated but the problem still persists.

Yes, I’ve heard the problem persists if you update the project from one version to the next. It is recommended to not do that. If you can go back to CS6 or start a new project you should not have the problem. Sorry about all the problems this has caused you.Thanks,
