Convert HD AVI format to HD MOV
I’m looking at a reasonably priced software to convert HD AVI format to HD MOV. I captured in Adobe Premiere Pro 5 through a Black Magic Teranex 2D box. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bruce,
Mac or PC based? Do you want/need ProRes or just .mov? If you own Premiere, then Adobe Media Encoder can certainly be used for conversions (no ProRes option on PC though).
If you need to create ProRes from PC, check out the “Cinec” encoder from Cinemartin.

You can try some freeware like VLC to do the work. If the output video quality can’t meet your needs, you can get some professional video convert app. I’m the Final Cut Pro X user, I successfully convert several HD AVI files to ProRes .mov with an easy-to-use AVI to MOV Converter. You can have a try.

Thanks for all your advice. I’ve decided to purchase AVS Video Converter and it has seemed to do the job.

You can use either Handbrake or AppGeeker to convert from one format to different formats.
