I just finished a commercial for a client. I exported a low quality version using Media Encoder CC (sending to queue from Prem CC didn’t work right, the render wouldn’t get past frame 1 for 2 hrs. I had to open ME CC and bring in the sequence).

I closed Media Encoder CC, closed Premiere CC, and then wanted to open the project again to check on something. This is all within a few seconds.

Prem will NOT open the project file. It “quits unexpectedly”. It asks me to find missing preview files. They’re no where to be found. I cannot even open the 5 auto-saved files. Totally screwed right now!

In the coloring I used Looks, Colorista, and MisFire–all from REd Giant. After apply those I rendered the preview files.

I’m at a loss on how to trouble shoot this.

    Please HELP!!! Thank you….

Have you tried cleaning out the cache and trashing preferences? Usually weird behaviors like this can be taken care of this way.

Yeah, that was my first move. Then I restarted.

The problem was with Magic Bullet LOOKS… this is about the 5th time I’ve issues with LOOKS. I will NOT be using it again.

I created a new project, imported the previous project, saw that LOOKS was jacking up every clip (weird graphic clutter and noise everywhere), then removed all LOOKS fx, problem solved.

    thanks,
    Mario

I’ve had to reinstall Premiere twice because of problems with Looks, and generally after an CC update is applied. Looks like Red Giant may be having trouble keeping up.
