    Hi….

is it possible, in a master sequence to change the angle of a multicam source without adding an edit?

    thanks!

Just arrow up/down to the clip, hit D to select it, (or you can command + down arrow to move the clip selection along the timeline) then toggle between cameras/angles with the number keys.

So as long as I’m at the head of the clip….?

is that what you are suggesting?

    thanks

What I’ve found is if i use the number keys I get a cut. If I clip in the angle monitor window it will change the clip underneath the playhead.

    Thanks,

this may seem a little odd….

but I’m looking at a sort of versioning workflow where

animatics coming in from AE get cut on to layers of sequences…

then those subsequences are assembled in a master

then by using mutli-cam mode…I could step the the revisisons of each segment from each animator..

sort of akin to eyeon Generation or Hiero from Foundry….

if (as I learned from Walter Soyka) the animators save their renders with XMP meta data embedded….it should allow relaunch of ae project right from clip.

    interesting….

    thanks!

You make a nest of each shot (with say 3 layers) and enable it as a multicam. Then use those nests as clips in your timeline. Then you could cycle through each nest to whichever layer you want seen. Interesting way to version a single timeline for sure.

An easier way I suppose would be to select all the versions/angles you want for each clip in the project bin, right click and “create multicam clip”. Then you can give it a unique name and use it just like another piece of media and you can cycle through its clips with the number keys.

right….either way….just looking at ways to duplicate this functionality in an Adobe pipeline.
