  Mouse and Scroll Settings?

  Hey all,

  Sorry if the title of this post confuses you, but I’m NOT complaining about how scrolling in the TIMELINE bothers me in PPro.

  What I AM posting about is the scrolling in the project window. My mouse seems to be working fine outside of PPro. When I scroll in a web browser or doccument, one click on the scroller of the mouse is recognized by the software and the picture moves in the designated direction, HOWEVER, when I scroll in Premiere, It doesn’t recognize that I’m scrolling for a few scrolling clicks, and I have to scroll fast in order for it to recognize what I’m trying to do…It works, but seems VERY clunky. When working with a lot of footage, fine tuning in the scroll means a lot.

  Is there a setting for scroll sensitivity I’m unaware of?

  Also, This is a bit tied in with mouse settings; snap seems too sensitive for me. It wants to snap to a cut point the moment I’m SORT OF close to it. I’m very used to turning it on and off, but I feel like I’m doing that for every other edit I make…a bit bothersome dont you think?

  Is there a setting to make the snap function a bit less sensitive? – I know it sounds like a crazy thing to complain about, but it’s really been bothering me.

  There is no setting to make Snap less sensitive.
  There is but one setting in the Preferences/General you can turn on or off:
  Snap Playhead in Timeline when Snap is enabled.

  Nate –

  I didn’t see what platform you’re on, but depending upon the mouse and keyboard drivers you have at your disposal, there’s a way to customize them specifically for certain software packages. If you’re on Windows, and have a Microsoft keyboard, there will be a Mouse setting in the Control Panel. You can go in and specify the .exe file you want to have custom settings (in your case, the Premiere one), change those, and you may see a difference.
