Cuda Card for Premiere Pro CC
Hello, I’m at a bit of a loss trying to sort out all of the new and old information about Cuda acceleration for Premiere Pro CC.
I have a 2009 Mac Pro 2.66 Quad Core with 24 gigs of ram. I’m normally editing 4k Red Epic footage which isn’t much of a problem until I start adding effects
It seems like things have been changing rather fast in this area between Premiere moving to Premiere Pro CC and Mac going to Mavericks. Many of the resources I have found suggest the PC card GTX 570 from https://www.ebay.com/usr/macvidcards that has been modded/flashed for use in Macs and then adding a line of code in the list of cuda cards for premiere but that was back before things have updated.
From what I understand in Mavericks and in Premiere Pro CC with the newest firmware most PC Nvidia cards will work (just no boot screen) in mac without being modded and without needing to add code to Premiere’s Cuda list. Does this sound right?
I’m a DP and am usually just using my editing machine to work on my reel with an occasional project, therefore I’m trying to keep things on a tight budget. Are there any other cards I should be considering?
