  Can’t open resulting file

  Long time Sony Vegas user, new Premiere user or maybe. I’ve been rendering intermediate formats with Sony Vegas for a while now using uncompressed AVI. Because my final requirement to be fully Xbox complaint is WMV have been using Expression Encoder from MS for the final WMV conversion. Vegas is so I can run the videos thru NeatVideo cleanup. I have created the same basic output with Premiere, AVI uncompressed. Expression Encoder won’t open it. It will play in WMP. Expressions things it’s an invalid file. Thoughts?

  Note resulting video stream in MediaInfo is a YUV stream. Not sure if what Vegas outputs is different.

  QuickTime uncompressed 4:2:2 YUV works with Expression Encoder 4. I cannot get EE4 to recognize AVI V210 YUV files. Uncompressed “None” should work, but 8-bpc RGB is susceptible to banding and blocking when converting from/to 8-bpc YCC.
