I’ve been tasked with editing content from two sources, one will be 1080p 25fps)HD content and one archive footage (not sure resolution or fps but definitely not HD). The final output is for a display screen in a gallery (1080p HD) via a BrightSign media player (with hdmi connection).

This may be a dumb question but…I know Premiere can handle multiple resolutions but will the quality of the archive media be somewhat degraded if I try to play and export it via an HD workflow? Does it matter if you play multiple resolution footage through a screen set to only one resolution or does the Premiere export configure the archive footage to accommodate the HD playback (I know it won’t suddenly make the archive footage HD quality but does the export even out any issues in this process?).

    Thanks in advance.

Premiere can handle all kinds of resolutions in one sequence.
SD will suffer qualityloss in a HD timeline.
You can try AE (latest version)which can upscale the SD footage now with good results.
