HTML5 video export settings in Premiere CS5 for smart device playback
Hi,
I had a quick look down the posts and couldn’t find anything related to this query so thanks in advance for any responses.
I’m using Premiere CS5 and I’m looking into the best export settings for smartphone / tablet playback.
I’ve seen an Adobe tutorial video recommending using H.264 format with the following settings:
resolution – 640×360
frame rate – 30fps
video data rate – 800 kpbs
audio data rate – 64 kbps mono
If anyone’s interested this is the tutorial link (it’s only 4mins): https://www.video2brain.com/en/lessons/producing-for-html5So my questions are:
1 – Will this single H.264 format be readable by Apple, Android, Windows smartphones and tablets? My website video player (JW Player) will play this format without any problems so my query is specifically relating to playback on devices.
2 – Would these render settings be good for general playback across most smartphones and tablets? I’m not sure how much the varying screen size of phones and tablets will determine the best general settings to use. Also, does anyone have recommendations for the best bitrates to use (balancing audio / visual quality with acceptible file size)?Cheers, Sion
