Hey ya’ll, I have a very frustrating problem with Premiere Pro on one of our towers here. Whenever we want to go to a different section on the timeline we have to click on that part at least 3 times before the cursor or the program monitor goes there. If we just click once where we want to navigate to, it won’t recognize it and will continue playing where the cursor was before.

    Any ideas?

    Our computer is:

Mac Pro 2×2.26ghz quad core intel Xeon
    32gb Memory
    Nvidia Quadro 4000 DDR3
    OSX 10.8.4

I also have this issue. If I scrub back to a spot and hit space bar to play, it will often start playback from where the cursor was a second or two before I scrubbed, or during the scrub. Same with clicking on the time line. Is this what everyone else experiences, or is there something somewhere that is wrong.

This is exactly it. Does anyone know anything about this issue?

I was looking back for an old post of mine, but I stumbled on this one and I figured it out. I figured I’d update it with an answer for anyone else who may have this problem:

If you have a reference monitor window (usually used for scopes) anywhere in your project (even if it is not visible) then it causes Premiere to do this. Close that window and it should stop (it did for me.)

Again, even if a reference monitor is open as a tab somewhere in your project, but not visible like this:

it will still cause this lag and timeline jumping.

Worked fine for me, thanks a lot!
