I need to find out the most common accepted frame rate for 720p broadcast.

    I believe this includes; 23.976p, 25, 50p and 59.94p

    I’m i missing any ??

Also are half raster frame sizes accepted in the broadcast world or strictly full raster (1280×720) frames ?? Thanks

Spec details will vary by broadcaster. 25/50 vs 30/60 will depend on region. This post includes a link to Comcast ad requirements, if that helps.

In the US it’s 720p60…59.94fps. Even if you shot and edited 720p24 at 23.98fps, the shows, if aired in 720p, are 720p60.

But this isn’t a spec you get from us. This is something you need to get from the network you are delivering to.

I should have mentioned that this is for film festival screening. I will be the one establishing the screening specs. I just want to find out the most common frame rate for US/Canada and Europe. As mentioned in my original post:

    23.976p, 25p, 50p, 59,94p should do it….i’m i missing something ???

    US/Canade – 720p60 (59.94) if 720p. At 1080i it’s 29.97

    Europe – 720p50 (50fps) and 1080i25

again…i’m looking for all the possible frame rate in 1280×720 for ALL regions

In the US, the only broadcast frame rates are 29.97 and 59.94. 23.98 isn’t broadcast…we might shoot and edit it…and even deliver 23.98 masters. But it’s converted to 1080i 29.97 or 720p 59.94. Nothing airs 29.97.

    Cannot comment about PAL.

[Anhtu Vu] “I need to find out the most common accepted frame rate for 720p broadcast.”

[Anhtu Vu] “again…i’m looking for all the possible frame rate in 1280×720 for ALL regions”

[Anhtu Vu] “I should have mentioned that this is for film festival screening.”

Which is it, the most common or all possible? Broadcast or film festival?

Signal specced framerates are as Shane said. It’s either 720p50 or 720p60.
