  • Premiere Pro CC: Position FX from timeline doesn’t work?

Posted by David Intrator on September 12, 2013 at 11:48 am

I just started in with PP CC after working with PP CS6.

When I click on “FX” in a clip in the timeline, I can’t figure out how to change Position. A white line comes up across the clip when I select from the dropdown menu after clicking on “FX”, but that line (sometimes called the “rubberband”) doesn’t respond to my cursor. I can not drag it up or down, and I’ve tried the addition of option, control and shift keys also to no effect.

Changing opacity, rotation and scale work fine.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

    Thanks.

    Hi David,

Position has been listed in the FX menu forever but it has never done anything. This is because Position has two separate parameters to adjust and the rubber band wouldn’t know which one you wanted. Same rule is true for Anchor Point. All effects with with one parameter to adjust will work under the rubber band.

[Peter Garaway] “Position has been listed in the FX menu forever but it has never done anything. “

Which begs the question…Why is in there again?
