  Audio sync going out when slowing down video in Premiere and audio in Audition

  Hi

  I’m trying to slow down some talking heads videos by 15% as they are for lip reading purposes and the client wants them slower.

  I did a test on a 10 second clip exporting the audio to Audition – slowing by 15% without changing pitch and then bringing back into Premiere and changing the duration to match. All looked and sounded great so then I did an 8 minute clip, but by the end of the clip the audio sync is about 2 seconds out – it slowly drifts out over the 8 minutes and is noticeable after about 30 secs.

  Any ideas as to what’s going on and how to fix it? Unfortunately Premiere makes the audio sound strange and echoey when slowing down and keeping the pitch the same so that’s why I’m going out to Audition which sounds perfect.

  I think I’ve worked it out – checking the ‘Lock stretch and pitch shift to new duration’ box seemed to fix it.
