Dynamic Link is Greyed out?
Posted by Alistair Gallop on July 17, 2013 at 8:07 amThe ‘dynamic link’ option in the menu is greyed out? I am on the creative cloud license and have made sure premiere and after effects are up to date but still no joy? Any Ideas?

July 17, 2013 at 2:34 pmReally at a loose end with this! I’ve tested it on another mac and it works fine..?
Is it something I need to install to enable it to work?

July 17, 2013 at 3:13 pmI assume you have the sequence selected you want to link from?

July 17, 2013 at 3:16 pmYep. I am trying to import AE comps into Premiere so have selected the sequence.
But then when I go to the file menu the ‘Adobe Dynamic link’ option is greyed out so I can go no further?

July 17, 2013 at 10:55 pmThis would imply we don’t think AE is installed. You have the latest CC of both installed?
Cheers

July 18, 2013 at 1:05 pmYou could try two alternate ways to import AE comps:
1- Just import in PPro the AE proyect (File->Import) and select the compos you want from this AE proyect
2- Open AE and drag and drop the compos from AE Proyect pannel to PPRo Proyect pannel.
If nothing of this works, then you could have an install problem.Regards

July 18, 2013 at 4:27 pmAre you running all the same versions of software? CS6 all around and not CC on some aps? If PPRo is CS6 and you are trying to dynamic link to After Effects CC, it will be greyed out as Dynamic link is not the same. If you are running same version for both, not sure what it could be then.
