Efficient way of getting rid of extra footage?
Basically, I’m doing camera and editing work for a couple of different products, and for skateboarding videos. I film with a hacked GH2 camera, and variety of lenses. When filming, especially when filming skating, I sometimes have to leave the camera rolling for long amounts of time, as the nature of skating is pretty spontaneous. This allows me to pick through much more footage afterwards, which is helpful. However, I wanted to know if there is a way of “trimming” source files?
Is there a way where I could basically go through all the footage, make “subclips” of what I need, and then have whatever wasn’t subcliped deleted? (have the actual source files deleted?)
Maybe a way pf turning the subclips into their own “real clips”? since I know subclips only “refer” to the source files, and aren’t actually clips themselves. If anyone has any idea of how to do this, or just an idea on how to efficiently get through loads of footage and be able to keep the best of it without losing quality? 🙂
thanks so much, anything is appreciated!
