Issue With .MTS Files
Hi all. I’ve been having a very odd issue with .mts files in Premiere recently. I was editing together clips from my recent trip to New York City, and all was perfectly well. Everything looked great, it was a project I did over a few days, no issues whatsoever. I finished it late one night, and decided that I’d burn it the next morning. I came back to it that following day, only to be greeted by Premiere telling me that all of my media is offline, no audio, no video, just that red screen. Of course, I checked to see if I may have accidentally moved my files elsewhere, which I didn’t. They were just where they’d always been, but premiere wasn’t recognizing them. I re-opened my project, and this time it asked me where they were, (which it didn’t last time). I thought that this would solve it, just direct it, boom, set to go. But when I showed it to where the clip it was looking for was, it told me that the clip’s video and audio didn’t match that of the original. Even though it is very clearly the exact clip that it’s looking for, it thinks it knows better. There’s no doubt whatsoever, that’s the clip I need. But it won’t take it. So I skipped the finding process, see if I can link it in the project media area. And it would let me link it, but it said it’s still not the same thing that it’s supposed to be linking, but it at least gave me the opporunity to do it. After going through with it, my video for that file was indeed restored, but there was no audio. I decided to test another .mts alone on its own, just a whole new project to try it out. And it’d import fine, all the settings right for it, but no audio came with. It was just a video track. Which makes literally no sense, it was as if Premiere suddenly decided to just…drop its support for .mts files or something. I know that’s not the case, but it feels like that. Literally over night, one day it was working perfectly fine, the next, not even a single isolated .mts will work properly. And this is extremely maddening, as I’ve put a lot of work into my project, it’s over an hour long, over 40 different files, hard work tweaking stuff and the rest. And I can’t do anything at all with it now, can’t even get a simple .mts to work for me. Could anybody help me with this? I really really really would appreciate it, as I’ve been at this for two days trying to find an answer, I’ve browsed many forums, and haven’t been able to find an issue quite exactly like mine. So any aid would be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance 🙂
