  • Jpeg2000 in MXF container….is it possible with CS6

For archiving purpose we would like to transcode all our library to Jpeg2000 wrapped in MXF. I’m in the midst of testing different tools available on the market and since i own Premiere Pro CS and CC i wiould like to give it a go.

According to Adobe, Jpeg2000 output within an MOV is supported but i don’T see the codec at all in the render window. ? nay idea ?? Thanks

on a side note, are there any tools that can encode directly to Jpeg2000 wrapped in MXF op1a instead of MOV ??? Thx

Apparently TotalCode for Premiere Pro by MainConcept will wrap j2k to mxf.

Thx for the suggestion…unfortunately Total Code from main concept won’t do J2k in MXF.

The DCP package in Totalcode wraps jpeg2000 sequences in MXFs. I suggest you download the demo or ask Mainconcept.

    David,

What i’m after has nothing to do with DCP. Jpeg2000 wrapped in MXF for DCP is very different from Jpeg2000 wrapped in MXF for video. Again Main Concept will NOT work, their package (like most solution out there) is made for DCP. The only solution made for video archive using Jpeg2000 and MXF i know of is from Front Porch Digital. I was hoping that in 2013, some other tools might be available, but i guess not.

DNxHD OP1A would be a comparable option.
