exporting Pro Res in Premiere CC
I have a 14 min Pro Res sequence filled with various formats, stills, effects, etc. Everything renders and plays fine on the timeline, but when I go to Export, the export gets stuck whenever it hits a title (just a regular title made in premiere) or a random still image. Its very strange because everything renders fine and I’m not having any issues with Premiere. It just won’t export. I’m on a Pro Res timeline and trying to export either using previews or matching sequence settings. Both of them fail. When I try to export to another format (like h264) it seems to work.
This is killing me because I have a finished project I need to deliver, but I can’t export it in Pro Res!
Any advice?I’m on Premiere CC (latest update installed) on a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion (latest update)

I used to have that exact same problem with CS 6.
Two ways around it:
reboot the computer, open the project, export it.
if that doesn’t work:
make a new sequence with same settings, copy and paste
the problem sequence into the new one. (copy it, don’t nest it)that would definitely fix it (when I was on CS 6)

Also try turning off GPU (CUDA) just before render and check Maximum Render Quality.

None of these solutions work. It appears to be a genuine ProRes related bug in CC, because I didnt have these issues with CS6.

Quadro 4000 on a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion (latest CUDA drivers installed)

Bummer – since my MacPro is too old to run CC I’m running on PC and loving it so far – much faster than CS6. I’m also impressed with the total integration of Avid DNxHD mxf codecs in Premiere. This means I’m no longer dependent on ProRes and editing seems faster and smoother using Avid mxf’s vs. QT’s…

Hi Chris. I did try your workarounds, but unfortunately neither worked. Premiere CC was suppose to fix the issue of exporting while using preview files using Pro Res, but there seems to be a bug when titles or graphics are involved (it works fine if i remove all graphics and titles). I noticed there are a couple of others with the same issue. I wish Adobe would finally wake up and address this issue for Mac users. Its not just some little issue…its exporting our sequence – kind of a big deal.

If it’s a ProRes sequence and you have it set to generate ProRes previews…can you try to preview render the portions of the timeline where the titles are (or render the whole thing if it’s short) and then try exporting with the “use previews” box checked?
It’s not a solution to the issue, but it might get you operational…
