  Skipping bits on timeline during constant playback

  Hello,

  I was wondering if anyone could help me a question I’m having, regarding the timeline of Adobe Premiere (5.5).

  Next week I’m attending a live award show, for which I’ve been asked to produce and manage some video’s, which will be displayed on the big screen.

  Some simple montages and ‘the winner is’-AFX animations.Last year I did this as well, by putting all video’s on the timeline.

  The output was displayed on a big screen the whole night, so I had 1 JPEG-still (logo), and layed it on top of each video.

  Then I took a 1 frame-snippet of the still, and put it before each video. Whenever a montage had to be shown, the cursor was placed before the montage (resulting in displaying the JPEG), then the second layer (JPEG) was removed (still showing the 1 frame JPEG), after which the space bar was entered.

  (I hope this makes any sense)

  Now here’s my question:

  The JPEG-still from last year was quite a boring visual, so I created a video which contains motion on the background.

  I would like to have this motion-background-thingy on for the whole night and immediately change to the right montages/winner-announcement bit whenever I like to.

  Is there a way to accomplish this? Some sort of chapter-option (as seen in Adobe Encore)? You just hit the numbers on the keypad to go to the right clip and change back to the continuous background-motion video?

  The idea behind all of this, is that you don’t get black-screens while repositioning the cursor between different segments of the show. Of worse… that the cursor/laptop is malfunctioning, and all of a sudden it ends up on the ‘winner’-screen at the start of the show.

  Hope there is a solotion for this 🙂
