  Adding transitions to Audio without Video

  Hey guys,

  Former FCP user who has been on pp for 2/3 months mainly for cutting news.

  One of the biggest annoyances I have with pp is that when i want to apply a default transition (a cross fade), unless I have unlinked the audio from the video it applies it to both.

  Normally i want to do the audio without the video. Is there any fast way of making premiere do this (like it was in FCP)?

  It appears to be possible, although I’m not on a Mac:

  It also looks as if you can set your default audio transition independent of your default video transition.

  Premiere Pro CS6 here on a Mac

  Without unlinking the audio from the video

  COMMAND + D – applies default video transition

  SHIFT + COMMAND + D – applies default audio transition

  And of course, editing the keyboard shortcuts, you can bind any keys you want to perform the task.
