Audio Oddities
Hello all,
Having a bit of weirdness with my audio. I’m slowly switching over to CS6 from FCP. Running Mountain Lion on a Mac Pro2 x 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon with 32 GB of RAM. Ive searched for similar posts, but haven’t run across this yet.
If I download an audio file (usually aif 16 bit, 48 kHz, stereo) I can play it fine in a preview in Finder and it seems to import into Premiere decently. But my audio will randomly cut out. Just stop working system wide. I can see it in the audio meter fine, but audio cuts out, sometimes with a lot of digital static.
I’m outputting through an AJA LHi card and I made sure I installed all necessary drives and software. I’ve deleted prefs and made sure Premiere prefs are set to “System default/input and output”
In my system sound prefs, I have it set to my AJA card. The only way to make audio come back to life is to change those prefs to “Digital Out” and then back to AJA again.
And the weirdest thing that happens is if I preview a sound file in finder and then switch over to Premiere and try to play a totally different sound file, Premiere cuts back and forth between it’s audio and the audio that I had just listened to in Finder.
This is a recent clean install on a new hard drive.
Any insights?
