  Wacom Intuos5 “Mapping” Pen or Mouse

  First off I love Creative Cow!!! FYI

  I just bought my first pen tablet, its the Intuos5 Medium. I’ve been working with it about a week and I’m starting to hate it a little less than I did the first day. That first day blew.

  And just when I got to where I wasn’t snail taking slow, I found out about an option in the Mapping section where you can switch it to “Mouse”, versus the “Pen” setting. I’m not sure which one I prefer.

  How are you pen tablet editors using your Intuos mapping for Premiere Pro, AE, and general use?

  Pointer is point-to-point translation; I move my pen to the corner and it appears in the corner of my screen. Mouse is lift and drag for use with the Intuos mouse if one was included.

  With the pen, pen mode exclusively is the way I go. I will say that I don’t use it for editing though. Adobe and Wacom need to work out some sensitivity/accuracy issues in Premiere and AE.
